Receiving systems

SPOT 5 Terminal (TS5)
- The SPOT 5 Terminal, designed and developed by CNES, Spot Image and EADS/S&DE, lets you capture, archive and process image telemetry from SPOT 2, 4 and 5 satellites directly at the receiving site.

The SPOT 5 Terminal is used to:
  • Decode telemetry and produce catalogue files
  • Add imagery to the catalogue and order products
  • Preprocess image data (levels 1A, 1B and 2A) – Supermode capability
  • Interface with the programming centre and operational support teams at Spot Image
    • (Toulouse facility, France)

Receiving antenna
- The antenna proposed can track SPOT satellites and collect image telemetry anywhere in the antenna’s receiving footprint.
A lightweight, 3.4-metre antenna is suitable for receiving SPOT telemetry but antennas of around 5 metres are necessary for multisatellite reception.

ELS (Easy Link to SPOT) ready-to-use package
- ELS (Easy Link to Spot) is a complete, compact receiving station package consisting of a SPOT 5 Terminal and a receiving antenna. This solution lets you capture, archive and process telemetry at the receiving site.
We deliver ELS ready to operate at the location of your choice.
On a day-to-day basis, the station is run by a small team comprising an acquisition operator, a production operator and an image quality expert under a supervisor and system administrator.

A multisatellite version of ELS is also available.
Since 1999, Spot Image and EADS/S&DE have been exclusive suppliers of both the SPOT 5 Terminal and the SPOT 5 processing line for multisatellite stations.
This system has to have a French export licence.
