SIP=System Integrated Programming.
Spot Image programmes SPOT centrally, accepting requests from all direct receiving stations and other customers. It determines the optimal use of satellite resources depending on the weather (updated every 24 hours), the order in which requests arrive and the priorities attributed.

reception licence
- The licence includes:
  • reserved SPOT satellites programming slots, defined to suit your needs,
  • direct reception of data acquired by the HRV instruments on SPOT 2, HRVIR on SPOT 4 and HRG on SPOT 5 within your station’s receiving footprint,
  • a data distribution licence for imagery acquired within the station’s territory or for a given market on request.
Each direct receiving station manages the acquisitions within its own receiving footprint depending on the satellite resources allocated by Spot Image.

Spot Image’s System Integrated Programming (SIP) method allows receiving stations to make specific imaging requests. Spot Image adds the acquisitions to the satellite’s work plan and sends the image acquisition plans to the requesting station.
The station is kept informed of progress and collects the requested imagery once acquired.

This is a very flexible programming method and provides for urgent requests, acquisitions at a given date or archive programming, a useful way of obtaining a homogeneous reference coverage of the observed area.
